I can't remember a time when I wasn't writing, and my dream was always to be a published author. I first submitted a novel to a publisher when I was fourteen. They didn't publish it, but an editor sent an extremely kind letter encouraging me to keep writing. I'm so glad I followed her advice!
It was back in 2014 that I spotted the Accent Press and Woman Magazine competition for new unpublished contemporary women's fiction writers, with the prize of a publishing contract. I decided to enter my novel, 'French Kissing'.
I posted off my entry just before the November deadline and told myself not to think about it. Then, in January 2015, when I was least expecting it, I got a phone call to tell me that I'd won the competition and that 'French Kissing' would be published in the summer - I'll never forget that incredible moment!
Fast forward seven years and my sixth novel, 'Rome For The Summer' was published on 23 June 2022.
I live in North London with my husband and have 3 adult children who live nearby. When I'm not writing or reading, I can usually be found at the theatre or exploring a foreign city - with a writer's notebook, camera and sketchbook in hand.
Never give up on your dream because dreams can come true.
